warm weather activities

· RESERVE A CABIN ·

When the temperature rises, there are still plenty of activities at Snowshoe Country. Guests enjoy berry picking and bird watching right by the cabins. If lucky, they may even have the opportunity to spy animals that are fairly unique to the area like moose, timber wolves and pine martens. The camp is located on Sand Lake, a great place to go canoeing, harvest wild rice or fish for walleye, northern pike, perch and bluegills. Snowshoe Country also serves as an ideal lodging base for grouse and duck hunters (hunting is not allowed on the camp property or nearby, however) and leaf-watchers in the fall. If it happens to rain during your stay, you can venture into the colorful town of Ely to visit local attractions such as the International Wolf Center www.wolf.org , the nearby historic iron mine (Soudan), and new North American Bear Center www.bear.org
