Guests of Snowshoe Country reside in a variety of cozy housekeeping log cabins featuring  woodstove heat. Although all of the cabins have electricity, fresh water is drawn from nearby wells with hand pumps. Note that all accommodations are smoke-free.

Come alone, with a friend, or in a large group. Hold a meeting, a family reunion, or a wedding!

Our Cabins:
The Ridge Bunkhouse The Ridge Bunkhouse- sleeps 4-10
Our largest cabin, this two-story log bunkhouse overlooking Sand Lake features four rooms with eight beds. Two rooms are for cooking and eating, four beds are in a separate room and a large room upstairs features one twin bunk-bed and two double beds. It includes a wood heater, refrigerator and electric stovetop. Families or groups enjoy the roomy layout and the lake view balcony.
Snowshoe Cabin Snowshoe Cabin - sleeps 2-5
This cabin features a main floor and a loft. It includes one single and two double beds, as well as a kitchenette and wood heater.
Sunrise Cabin Sunrise Cabin - sleeps 2-3
Secluded one room log cabin, includes both a single and a double bed, as well as kitchenette and wood heater.
Wolverine Cabin Wolverine Cabin - sleeps 2
This cabin features one loft and a main floor. There is one double bed in the loft. It also includes a kitchenette and wood heater. This cabin was featured in 1983 Popular Mechanics, and a 1992 wolverine movie: "Running Free."
French-Canadian Cabin French-Canadian Cabin - sleeps 1-2
This secluded piece-en-piece style cabin has one double bed and is a replica of a typical one-room fur traders cabin. It also includes a kitchenette and wood heater.

All cabin rentals incude:

  • Wood-fired log sauna with homemade rustic shower.
  • Firewood for cabin stoves and sauna.
  • Several freshwater wells - hand pumped.
  • Log privy near each cabin.
  • Plowed parking lot on good road.
  • Electric hookups for vehicle engine heaters.
  • Trails for cross-country skiing & snowshoeing are on the property and on adjacent lands, state and private.
  • Use of several styles of traditional wooden snowshoes (as well as plastic-metal versions).
  • Access to a canoe.

Note: all cabins are furnished with bunks, covered mattresses, cooking utensils, electric stovetops, dishware, dry sinks and cupboards. A quick cleanup of your cabin upon your departure is always appreciated.
